Resilient housing strategy for residents in Surfside, Miami. Integration of natural habitat to mitigate sea level rise and storm surges. Also foresee the functionality of the building in the future.

Every year, Miami experiences severe flooding & storm surges. To mitigate rising sea level on residential area, the project uses elevated platform to utilize understory and inhabitable space. It also explores how elevated platform housing can perform in daily and post storm scenarios.
The project introduces diverse natural plantation strategy within the courtyard. These plants are salt and flood tolerant to survive and reduce property damage during environmental impact. In addition, rood solar panels are installed to provide quick electricity to the house using the stored electricity. These panels can be closed to protect from the storm and open for ventilation and light.
Not only the project foresee present state, it also projects up to year 2200+. It introduces a transition from private to public property as new programmatic functions are introduced at every year checkpoints.
